T.E. Scott Whelping Nest
T.E.'s Heated Whelping Nest reduces mortality in newborn puppies, and produces healthier, more
vigorous pups. The Whelping Nest has an electronic heat sensor that constantly gauges the
temperature and adjusts it accordingly. This maintained temperature, next to eating, is the most
important element in a young puppy's life.
The dish shaped nest simulates a natural nest and serves the important function of keeping the
pups all together in one area, making the female's job much less stressful.

Our Experience:
We used this whelping nest for the very first time in our kennel after traveling to SC to breed to FC
Narron's Cadalac Jack. The nest was amazing! The female took to it easily and seemed to enjoy
resting in the curled up position in the nest. She had plenty of room around the nest to rest. The
female was able to easily keep things clean. We had to have a C-section performed on the female
and the gentle heat actually helped to heal her incision and the pup's incision (mama dog tried to
hurt the pup and ripped the umbilical cord which ripped part of his stomach so he had to have
surgery right after birth). The pup stayed warm and as you can see, he's a healthy, happy male. We
enjoyed being able to set the thermostat. You can use blankets with this, but probably would not
be necessary. The clothing you see with Ginger is because she would not accept the pup. The
clothing had our scent and we wrapped the pup in those items to give him our scent. She was great
with the pup if we left the clothing, which was eventually removed as she adjusted to her pup.
When the mother chills before birth, this helped give her the heat she needed. We definitely will
use this with all our litters from now on. This is one of those: "why didn't I do this before" type of
products.
